Boondocking is a great way for RV camping. This allows you the opportunity to spend time in nature and enjoy all of the conveniences of your RV. Before you go on your boondocking adventure, here are some things you should know. It is important to be aware of the rules and precautions that you need to take in order for your safety and the protection of the environment.

One of the main rules of boondocking is to follow the Leave No Trace principles. You must leave the campsite in a better state than it was when you arrived, and not disturb wildlife. You should also avoid dumping trash and keep a campfire going. Your valuables should be kept out of the reach of large animals such as raccoons. You can protect yourself by spraying pepper spray on wildlife.

It's a good idea also to pack your RV thoughtfully. Aside from your basic tools and necessities, you should pack an emergency kit. It should include food, water, and a first aid kit. Your supplies can be stored in a storage area in the event you need to leave the RV during the night. A spare tire and windshield wipers are also important.

You should charge your solar batteries every day if you intend to use it. Traditional bulbs are more efficient than LEDs, so it is a good idea to switch to LED lights.

It's a good idea for you to bring at least 2 garbage bags with you during your stay. A bike or toad is a great tool to help you navigate the area. This can be an excellent way to find a boondocking site without driving too far. Be sure to ask the park rangers if there are any regulations. A truck or car can be used to help you scout the area if you don't own a toad.

Most boondocking sites can be packed-in or packed-out. This means that you must pack all your trash out before you leave for your destination. If you don’t have enough space to store all your trash you can take it to a dump station. A cargo carrier can be used to transport your trash to the dumpster.

You will need fuel if you plan to stay in one place for a long time. You also have to consider how much water you RV uses. Even though you might have a tank for water, it may be difficult to fill it. You will need to refill your water tank from another source if it is full.

A generator is an excellent idea if you are planning to camp for more than a week. These generators can come in handy when you have to power your appliances. Some of them come with an AC or DC charger, which can save you from having to purchase an inverter.
